Collective Kbeauty product review (Skinfood Eggwhite Pore Mask, Cosrx low ph cleanser, Cosrx Aha/Bha cleanser)
Hello! Today, I'll be reviewing some of the products I hauled from my last post.
"SKINFOOD's Egg White Pore Mask is a pore-refining cleanser with egg white extract that penetrates deeply into pores to remove pore-clogging oil."
It claims to be a deep cleansing product that will unclog pores. Congested pore Is one of my main issues with my skin so I had high expectations.
The product itself is very creamy and thick. A little bit goes a long way and It smells very fresh. My brother has mild blackheads so I used him as a test subject (lol).
I'm using my little brother as a model so please be nice. |
Here is the product freshly applied. I only used about a pea sized amount and it spread quite nicely.
And after 20 mins I made him wash it off and here's the result. Honestly I was expecting a little but more, you can still see the black heads and the texture is still bumpy. I got the same exact result when I used it on myself which is slightly disappointing. It did made my face feel soft like most of face masks do.
It doesn't really serve its main purpose which is to unclog and clear pores. I'll still keep on using it and hopefully it reduces the look of blackheads from multiple use
Pros:
- Affordable
- Softens Skin
- Non-drying
- Mild scent
- Non-greasy
Cons:
- Doesn't really do what it's supposed to do

The next product I'm going to be reviewing is the Cosrx Low Ph Good Morning cleanser ($8.80). This product is highly raved in the Kbeauty community and a holy grail of many people.
I admit, I never really cared about my cleanser's "pH" before. I just used any soap that claims to dry acne and I'll always end up with a very tight/dry face after (I even thought it was a good thing because dry face = acne will dry faster).
Here is a summary of what pH is:
(From projectvanity's blog post. Read the whole post Here)pH which stands for “potential hydrogen” is a measure of how acidic or basic a water-based solution is. The scale ranges from 0 to 14, with 0 referring to a highly acidic substance, 7 a neutral substance, and 14 a highly basic or alkaline substance. The acid mantle is our skin’s outermost protective layering. It’s a film of skin oils and acids that serves as a natural barrier between the deeper layers of our skin and the bacteria that we come across in our day to day lives. For the longest time, I used to associate the term acidic with a negative connotation. The truth, I’ve discovered, is that the low pH of the acid mantle creates an environment that is inhospitable to infection-causing pathogens and acne-causing bacteria. In short, pH-balanced skin is clear, clean, healthy skin!
The cosrx cleanser has a pH of 5.5 and 6.5 when foamed. |
Comes in a very simple packaging. |
I went ahead and tested if it will remove makeup and it surprisingly did! For someone who wears minimal makeup, this cleanser does the job.
It's a gel type cleanser and it lathers nicely, not very foamy but enough to satisfy you ;).
I've been using this cleanser for a couple of weeks now and I must say, It's pretty good for $8.80. It leaves my face clean but a little bit dry. It's supposedly good for all skin types but I see reviews that it's too drying for some. I guess it's just case to case basis since some people with dry skin also loves this.
I don't feel like it dries up my acne thou but it contains tea tree so I feel like it somehow helps.
Overall I say this is a good buy. It's a gentle cleanser that does the job and is not harmful for your skin because of it's Low pH. I definitely recommend it if you want to try a Low pH cleanser and have oily skin.
Pros:
- Affordable
- Comes with a lot of product
- Gentle
- Removes minimal makeup well
- Leaves skin soft
- Has skin loving ingredients
Cons:
- Slightly drying
- Weird smell (tea tree)

Last but not least is the Cosrx AHA/BHA toner. ($12.80)
I decided to try this one from cosrx since the bha I was using ran out. I've watched multiple reviews and it said that it's very gentle and is good for mildly exfoliating the skin.
I like that It comes in a spray type dispenser because the product is easier to dispense and it's sanitary.
I use it after I cleanse with my low ph cleanser and overall the product is gentle. I've read that this cleanser balances your pH that means other products you put on top will absorbs better?
I have acne prone skin and I don't think it irritates it but I don't think it helps to dry it as well. I will let you guys know if it helps my hyperpigmentation since I have a lot of that.
Pros:
- Sanitary packaging
- Gentle
- Provides mild exfoliation
